Boone, long-time cutting horse enthusiast, purchased
Thomas E Hughes to show in the non-pro division.
Little did they know that watching the top trainers
in the world succeed on the great stallion would
bring them so much satisfaction.
The Boone’s had high hopes and goals for Tom. Austin Shepard, Tom’s
primary rider, rode him to the 2009
Classic/Challenge Open Co-Champion and then to the
2009 Open Reserve World Champion and 2009 World
Champion Stallion. 2010 brought more recognition for
the up and coming stallion. Tom was shown on a very
limited basis and was shown by four NCHA Hall of
Fame Open Riders in the Mercuria World Series of
Cutting, qualifying for the finals in 5 out of the 6
shows in which he competed. |

 2011 brings new hopes and aspirations to the young
stallion. The 2011 National Cutting Horse Association’s
Horse Hall of Fame is in Tom’s sights. With current
life-time earning of $386,772 Thomas E Hughes has less than
$13,000 to earn him a ranking among the most prestigious
horses in the industry.
Unlike many stallions, Thomas E Hughes has a “star” quality that captures
an audience. His dynamic style in front of a cow and his
outstanding athletic ability exemplify the heart of a
champion. Although Tom’s foals are not yet of age to be
shown in the arena, the Boone’s are hopeful that his
off-spring will have the same great disposition and talent.
